How time flies! We are now in the final stretch of the first semester. In a few weeks, we’ll have taken our last final and be home for the holidays. One thing that I love about Creighton is the generosity of the breaks that we get. Nothing is more satisfactory than getting home to the beach before all your pale, winter trodden (is that is word?) friends. I’m looking forward to being home and relaxing in the warm sun. Too bad for all those who have to go home to snow!
I hope that everyone had a fat thanksgiving, because I know I did. I ended up skipping my last day of classes (whoops) and flying out to LA to spend the first half of my week with my siblings who live there, and then the second half of the week with my many friends up there. I was pondering on what to write for this week’s entry. ..and then something very interesting happened to me. Those of you who live in apartment buildings will know what I’m talking about. This year as a sophomore I live in a dormitory called Kenefick. Kenefick is apartment/studio style living with a kitchen, walking closet, and bedroom/bathroom. Well anyway the interesting thing that happened to me today as I was standing in the elevator to take it up the 15th floor (yes, that is where I live).
I was standing in the elevator and a girl came running in. she leaned over to press the button, but when she looked at the panel, she found that the floor that I was going to was also the floor that she wanted to go to. Awkward! We stoo ...

last year at Creighton, i was very lucky to have friends with cars. this year, i have been even more fortunate, because even more of them have cars! Rambling on this tangent, an environmentalist recently came to some of my classes and talked about how we can help, even if it’s just as much as refraining from throwing actual trash into a recyclable bin (come on I know you’ve all done it)
By throwing in the candy wrapper (or whatever) the people who collect the paper or plastic or glass bins are forced to throw everything away instead of taking it to the center to be recycled, because it is ‘tainted’. Throwing away a cup of soda or liquid beverage is especially terrible. The ...
