I see that the last entry written here from me was about the snow day, wow! I am happy to say that the weather has been a lot better, even warm enough for me to study in my yard the other day! Something about spring really brings the atmosphere here to Creighton. I love that the mall (main walk through campus) really zings right up with students lounging about with lunch, hw, or just socializing. It’s also this part of year that the student activities bring back outside what is called “Wednesday’s after Class” which includes food, crafts and free things to do relating to holidays, occasions, or the times of year. WAC, as it is called, is one of the ways that I feel Creighton really makes the effort to make people feel cared for and loved. Free sna ...

Creighton University Arts and Sciences junior Lauren Fukuda and senior Kara Stockdale presented at the Ignatian Solidarity Network’s Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice focused on immigration, March 13-15 in Washington, D. C.
Fukuda spoke about her student experiences in lobbying and advocating for immigration reform. Stockdale focused on her internship last summer working at an immigrant worker center in Wisconsin.
Two additional students from Creighton also attended the event.
Apparently, they made a very good impression. Paul Homer, who teaches religion at Fordham Preparatory School in New York, encountered the Creighton group and found our students “filled with passion for justice and love for their school. ...

Many students come to Creighton for pre-med. Fewer realize that before med school, they may be doing significant research even as an undergrad. At least that's what happens at Creighton.
Sophomore Honors Student Sumit Kar has been selected as a finalist for the American Physiological Society David Bruce Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research.
Sumit is one of 15 chosen and will be presenting at the Experimental Biology Conference in New Orleans in April where he will be interviewed for the award.
“We are hoping he is successful but that he would be a finalist at this national level – as a sophomore – is pretty exciting,” said Dr. Bridget Keegan, Associate Dean, College of Arts & ...

Today on the Creighton Campus is beautiful...WAC (Wednesdays After Class) is on the mall allowing us to make Sand Candy, which was a lot of fun. The stereo is blasting on the mall and it is a great day to just sit outside and read or go for a walk...or go for a run for that matter in about 30 minutes when I have practice. I received news today that I have been accepted as a Resident Advisor next year, which I am very excited about. This is the point of the semester for me being an Education Major in which I am beginning to have a lot of projects and papers due, which is a bit hectic, but is manageable. I recently finished my practicum at Liberty Elementary School in which I taught 2nd Grade. It was an enriching experience, which is one thin ...

Creighton University now has an ambassador within the highest office in the land.
While Katie Bradley might not be representing CU directly as deputy associate director in the Office of Management and Administration, she certainly reflects well on her alma mater in her role at the White House.
Katie joined the Obama administration when it was the Obama campaign. After graduating in 2007, the journalism major moved to Des Moines to volunteer. Soon she had a paying job with the campaign.
Today, Katie's White House job is basically that of an office manager. Her first day involved equipping incoming staffers with the essential office gear of the 21st century--laptops and Blackber ...
