Sumit KarMany students come to Creighton for pre-med. Fewer realize that before med school, they may be doing significant research even as an undergrad. At least that's what happens at Creighton.

Sophomore Honors Student Sumit Kar has been selected as a finalist for the American Physiological Society David Bruce Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research.

Sumit is one of 15 chosen and will be presenting at the Experimental Biology Conference in New Orleans in April where he will be interviewed for the award.

“We are hoping he is successful but that he would be a finalist at this national level – as a sophomore – is pretty exciting,” said Dr. Bridget Keegan, Associate Dean, College of Arts & Sciences.
