The Fulbright Program has named Creighton University to its list of colleges and universities that produced the most 2009-2010 U.S. Fulbright Fellows.
Creighton placed among the top 10 in the country when its percentage of applicants actually awarded fellowships was compared to the number of students applying. Only seven institutions had a higher percentage of applicants awarded.

Two 2008 Creighton graduates are studying and conducting research overseas this fall as Fulbright Fellows. Claire Climer, of Omaha, received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Ecuador where she is helping adults with mid-level proficiency in English to develop skills in speaking, reading and writing. Sarah E. Harris Daley, O. T. D., is conducting research with Ukrainian children raised in institutionally run orphanages.
“We work closely with our students in the Jesuit spirit of cura personalis, carefully shepherding them through this process and making sure their academic and personal achievements are spotlighted appropriately,” said Amy E. Wendling, Ph.D., assistant professor of Philosophy, Creighton’s Fulbright program administrator.
