I love being able to excel in both academics and outside activities.
When I was researching colleges, I wanted a school that would not only prepare me for pre-health sciences, but would also be a good place for leadership and involvement, so I chose Creighton.
Creighton’s academics are second-to-none and they are the reason that I am here, but the reason I wake up every morning are the extracurriculars. I love being able to excel in both academics and outside activities.
Part of the academics here are the opportunities for research and hands-on lab experience. I have been taught to use the latest technology and machinery, which isn’t necessarily available at other schools. This gave me an edge over other students in getting an amazing research opportunity that Dr. Austerberry, my pre-health advisor, helped me find. Because I had the skills with the technology, I was able to get a summer internship doing research in a neuro-science lab at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The whole Creighton experience has been truly transformative for me, and it has changed me as a person, not just as a scholar.
