The way technology is completely integrated into the culture here at Creighton is a very Jesuit thing.

When I came to Creighton seventeen years ago, we worked on technology projects. Today, we work on projects that affect people. Whether it’s a building renovation, classroom renovation, or whether it’s a question a faculty member brings to me about how to get students to become more interactive, it’s just understood that technology will be embedded into the experience, regardless of what the experience is.

The way technology is completely integrated into the culture here at Creighton is a very Jesuit thing. The Jesuits have been reaching out in service to others for over 400 years, and we are still doing that—now it’s just in a different medium. Our online program development is really exciting. We are able to give students from around the globe the Creighton experience without ever setting foot on campus. At the same time, we are able to impact student learning beyond the classroom to the residence hall, the mall, or an apartment where a student lives across town. Being able to be a part of that process and affecting so many students around the world is the reward for me because we’re here for students.

Everything we do, whether it’s updating a data center or changing some type of platform—it’s ultimately about our students.
