I’ve always had a love for politics, and my experience here at Creighton allowed me to obtain a Capitol Hill Internship.
I’ve always had a love for politics, and my experience here at Creighton allowed me to obtain a Capitol Hill Internship. My involvement with this Program has really made that love grow.
I spent the first semester of my junior year in Washington D.C., living three blocks from the Capitol with students from around the country. I was lucky enough to work with Tim Russert on "Meet the Press", and for the first time during the 2008 Presidential Primaries, I was looking at politics through a media lens. I did research for the show, punched delegate numbers, did exit polling and blogged for MSNBC. It was a once in a lifetime experience and those primaries were fascinating for both parties. I was right in the middle of all the action . . . completely plugged in and loving every second of it!
These experiences will be invaluable as I enter graduate school at the University of Liverpool to study Politics in the Media.
