Kyle Korver on Creighton University

Kyle Korver (’03 Journalism) is one of the best known names at Creighton. That stems from his presence on and off the basketball court.

The current Utah Jazz forward says he came to Creighton to play for head coach Dana Altman and his program. While he was here, though, he realized he also had a chance to give back.

Korver started the Kyle Korver Foundation in the fall of 2006. He held the 1st Annual Golf Tournament in Omaha a year later, raising money to help children in need across the Metro area. His first stop during his NBA career brought him to Philadelphia, where he started another charitable program. “Kyle’s Coat Drive” collects winter coats for underprivileged kids in Philly. Despite his move to Utah, Korver still helps make sure this program continues.

Korver’s Foundation also supports raising awareness for the arts, providing essentials to developing countries, renovating recreation centers in Philadelphia and mentoring Omaha youth.

Korver embodies Creighton’s spirit and the Jesuit value of Magis, or more, and truly is one of many successful graduates who give back to their communities.
