School is in full swing with classes, tests, and extracurricular activities. It is officially Fall which makes me super happy!
The campus is thriving, the leaves are falling, and the squirrels are active- perfect college scene!
I was recently elected president of my residence hall, Swanson. Swanson is our second largest dorm on campus and is home to both freshman and sophomores. Part of my position is organizing the Homecoming events that Swanson will participate in.
Homecoming is next week and the theme this year is Wild West. All throughout the week, Swanson will be competing against the other residence halls in various activities. Coming up on Monday is the Mr. & Ms. BlueJay Pageant and Hall decorating competitions. Tuesday we have the Patio Decorating. Creighton allows student organizations and residence halls to paint squares on a patio outside the Hixon Lied Science Building. Those paintings stay there for the whole year until they get repainted for the next Homecoming week. This year we decided we will paint a cowboy swan on our square (“Swan”son) to go with the Wild West theme. On Wednesday we complete a service project for the community. Then on Thursday we decorate golf-carts which will be featured in the golf-cart parade on Friday. Keeping with the cowboy swan theme, we plan on decorating the golf-cart as a swan with a cowboy hat.
Homecoming should be a lot of fun!! I will take pictures of all the finished products! Wish Swanson lots of luck!!
