Challenge yourself with a solid, college preparatory curriculum that expands your academic skills. You will also enhance your application packet by participating in the International Baccalaureate Program, honors sections and Advanced Placement courses.
Standardized Testing
Creighton accepts the highest composite score on the ACT or SAT I. Creighton does not require or review the written portion of either test in its admission process. When you register to take these tests, be sure to have your official score sent directly to Creighton (ACT code number: 2444, SAT code number: 6121). Test early and often to score as high as possible.
Transfer Students/Students Applying for Re-admission
You can apply as a transfer student if you are in good academic standing at another accredited university, college or junior college. Both your college-level work and high school academic record are considered for admission. An overall college GPA of 2.75 (4.0 scale) or higher is recommended for acceptance.
Former Creighton students who reapply do not need to send duplicates of previously submitted records and fees. Students who have attended another university since leaving Creighton must have their official transcripts from those institutions sent to Creighton.
International Applicants
International students applying for admission as freshmen or transfer students need to complete the Common Application and supplement.
A complete application consists of the following documents:
- Common Application and supplement
- Counselor evaluation
- Original TOEFL score
- Official high school transcripts
- Certified translation of all high school transcripts (if in a language other than English)
- Certification of Available Finances, including official bank letters, statements of support, and bank statements (Please follow all directions included in the Certification of Finances)
- SAT or ACT scores: Recommended, but not required. Scores of 450 or greater on the SAT Verbal will be taken in lieu of the required 550 on the TOEFL or the required 6.5 on the IELTS.
- Certificates, diplomas, or examination results marking completion of secondary education or preparation for higher education (e.g., IB exam results)
International students are admitted on the basis of their standardized test scores, a comprehensive review of their transcripts, recommendations and a personal statement. Candidates whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL scores. Advanced credit may be awarded to students who have attained certain scores on the AP, IB, GCE "A" levels and CLEP.
Freshman international students may be eligible to receive need and academic scholarships ranging from $1.000 to $15.000 USD per year, renewable for four years. Students interested in competing for these scholarships must apply on or before March 1. Need-based Financial Awards are also available to International Students who demonstrate financial need on the Creighton “Certificate of Available Finances” and all candidates must also present official documentation of previous year household income and accrued family assets.
