Diversity Scholarship for Native Americans at Creighton University

 

Creighton University will award three-quarter tuition Diversity Scholarships for Native Americans valued at approximately $20,000 per year which are renewable (a total value of more than $82,000 over four years). In addition to these scholarships, additional grant monies may be provided to Native American Scholar recipients.

This award is funded through a special commitment by the Jesuits to Native American education and also in support of our major in Native American Studies program.

Guidelines

  • The Creighton University Diversity Scholarship for Native Americans is available to students who have a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher and who show a strong and continuous commitment to diversity through extracurricular activities and leadership roles.
  • Submission of a Creighton University Application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarship by January 6, 2010. Your application for admission also serves as your application for the Diversity Scholarship for Native Americans.
  • Submission of the activities resume with your application for admission. Your resume should include your extracurricular, community service, leadership activities, and employment both in and out of school.
  • Submission of a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood by February 1, 2010.
  • Submission of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1, 2010 as possible, but before February 15, 2010, designating Creighton University (FAFSA Code 002542) as an institution to receive the results.
  • Finalists will be selected for phone interviews to be conducted in mid-February.

Recipients of the Creighton University Diversity Scholarship for Native Americans will be enrolled in the Fr. John P. Markoe, S.J. Leadership Program.

In addition to this special scholarship, more than 50 Native Americans annually are enrolled at Creighton University. More than $1 million dollars in financial aid grants and scholarships support these students.
