My Creighton experience: Before I talk about how awesome Creighton is, let me talk about myself. I came to the United States in the summer of 2002 and went to small private middle school and high school in Wichita, Kansas. It was a big change in life for me, especially because I did not know any English. After graduating high school, I decided to pursue my dream; to become a doctor and be somebody. Because my entire family returned to Japan, I wanted to live and study in an environment that can support me going through hard times and community that I can be a part of.

I chose Creighton University because this University has the best community I fit well and people who are full of personalities. Everyone here is nice, funny, enthusiastic, and responsible and surprisingly studies a lot without complaining. I honestly had an image that smart people do not have to put efforts on studying but my friends have goals and ambitions. But at same time we enjoy weekend hanging out, watching American football, watching movies and going to the best Basketball games for free.

What impacted me at CU: The diversity of this campus is great. Because students come from many different places, everyone respect each other's culture and religion. As a proof, everyone tells me "nice hat" walking by if I am wearing my favorite cowboy hat. Also professors are interesting and super smart. I learn new things from them every day.

So I enjoy every day here at Creighton University. Now, I can't think of a life without it.

まずクレイトン大学のことを話す前に少し自分のことを紹介したいと思います。私はアメリカに父の仕事の関係で２００２年の夏に来ました。英語をまったく知らないまま現地の私立中学に入り高校を卒業するまでその学校に世話になりました。

高校卒業後、自分の夢を追うことを決意し、クレイトン大学に入学しました。私がクレイトン大学を選んだのはここの環境が自分にとてもあっていて、色々な生徒や教授たちがいるからです。自分の友人達は優しく、面白く、情熱的で、そして責任感の強く、目標が高く、文句を言いながらも驚くほどよく勉強しています。けれども週末はある程度遊び、若き日々を楽しんでいます。

私が一番驚いたことは、色々な人材が集まっていることです。そして、みながみなを尊敬し、文化や宗教の違いを楽しんでいます。それを証拠に、自分がカウボーイハットをかぶり校内を歩いていると必ず誰かが「ボウシ似合うよ」と言っててくれます。教授もフレンドリーで、とても物知りで、情熱的で、毎日私は新しいことを学んでいます。

自分は毎日をクレイトン大学で１００％生きてます。もう今ではここでの大学生活以外は考えることができません。
