About me: I’m from a small tropical island in the Indian Ocean called Mauritius (look it up, you won’t regret it!) and I’ve always dreamed of studying abroad, yet I somehow never imagined that I would come to the United States! Coming here, I’m really enjoying living on my own terms and making decisions for myself, it’s scary and exhilarating at the same time! Fun fact about me: I’m a hardcore feminist and have sometimes been known to have slightly misandrist views (!) I mostly procrastinate during my free time, but I’m passionate about writing and have done so for many years–short stories, diary entries, teen advice or feminist articles, you name it (don’t like poems though). A newfound interest- Netflix: more precisely, female-centric movies, TV shows and documentaries. Need any recommendations or simply want to know more about Creighton? Feel free to email me and I promise to get back to you ASAP!
Favorite activities on campus: I’m highly involved in the Muslim Student Association, I help plan and coordinate events, but I’m also part of Creighton’s Haven-a club which raises awareness about women’s rights issues, and of course, the International Student Association, which is a great platform for international students to connect with each other and have fun together!
Interesting facts about Creighton/Omaha: As a tropical islander, I have only one thing to say: IT’S. SO. COLD!!!!!! But don’t worry, you’ll get used to it, as I have…
What I have to say about Creighton: Creighton is a great place to be if you’re undecided about your major-which is why I decided to come here. The core requirements that you need to take are super interesting and they may give you an idea of what you’re good at and want to major in. If you have any questions, just email me anytime and I’ll be happy to answer them for you!
