Creighton University has moved all of our next remaining Admitted Student Days to a virtual format. Additionally, as more guidance is provided, we are also looking at adding dates for additional on-campus Admitted Student Days in the future.

You don’t have to wait to start your life at Creighton. All admitted students and their families are invited to our Admitted Student Days, where you’ll get the chance to explore the opportunities Creighton has to offer.

If you haven’t decided where to go in the fall, this is your chance to ask questions, get to know our campus, and learn how Creighton could be the right fit for you. If you have decided Creighton is the place for you, this is your chance to learn more about your future home and meet new friends.

We’ll tell you everything you need to know about summer orientation, financial aid, housing, advising, and class registration. Then you’ll take a virtual tour of campus and experience Creighton’s friendly, welcoming spirit for yourself. You’ll also hear why current students have fallen in love with life on our campus, from the one-on-one attention they get in the classroom to the diverse organizations they have access to.

The best part? You’ll get to meet your future classmates – the bright, curious, and passionate people you’ll spend the next four years living, learning, and serving with at Creighton.

Admitted Student Day FAQs

1. What is ASD?

ASD stands for Admitted Student Day. All admitted students and their families are invited to attend one of our five ASD dates. If you haven’t decided which college to attend in the fall, this is your chance to ask questions, get to know our campus, and learn how Creighton could be the right fit for you. If you have decided Creighton is the place for you, this is your chance to learn more about your future home and meet new friends.

2. What does the day include?

We’ll share with you everything you need to know about summer orientation, financial aid, housing, advising, and class registration. You will be able to tour our campus and the surrounding Omaha area as well. To get a sense of what topics are covered in our Admitted Student Days, check out the agenda overviews below. Each of our undergraduate colleges’ have a different agenda, as these days are highly personalized.

3. Should parents attend?

Parents are encouraged to attend. This is a family decision based on many factors, so please do what is most comfortable for you and your family. Parents join students for all but one session. In this one session, we provide the opportunity for students and parents to separately attend their own information panels.

4. What time should I plan to arrive and leave ASD?

Our check-in table will open at 7:30 am and the first session “Admitted Student Day Overview & Breakfast with Your College” will begin at 8:00 am. The day will conclude about 4:00 pm.

5. How do I register for the event?

6. What do I do if I need to switch dates or cancel my current ASD registration?

No worries - you can send an email to the Admissions Events Team at admissionsevents [at] creighton [dot] edu or call 402-280-2703 and ask for the Events Team. Please include your first and last name and the date of your current ASD registration and what the update is that you would like to request. Please be aware that we have a limited number of overnight spots for each ASD, so we cannot guarantee that you will be able to stay overnight if you switch dates. You are encouraged to ask about our overnight capacity before you change dates.

7. If I have special dietary needs, how do I let you know?

There is a question on the registration form regarding specific dietary needs.

8. Can I stay overnight on campus?

Admitted students have opportunity to spend the night in a residence hall with a current student on the Sunday before ASDs. Please be aware there is a limited number of spaces for the overnight program. If there is space available, you can register for the overnight when you complete your registration online. 9. Where does my family/parent stay overnight?

Family and parents stay off campus in a hotel or with local family or friends. Please reference our area hotel information for more information.

10. How do we get to campus and where do we park?

Please use our driving directions and campus maps, including parking information to assist you in your travels. The Harper Center, where check-in is located, is at 602 N 20th Street, Omaha, NE 68178.

11. How do I get from the airport to Creighton’s campus?

Omaha’s Eppley Airfield is about a 10-minute drive from Creighton’s campus. Taxis, Lyft, and Uber are readily available. Please contact your Admissions Counselor for special requests or questions about transportation.

12. Will I be able to talk to someone about financial aid?

Yes, our Financial Aid office will be open for walk-in appointments and questions all day during ASD.  Also, the Admissions Office will be staffed with Admissions professionals that can assist you.

13. Can I make my class reservation deposit while I am on campus for ASD?

Of course! Just come to the Admissions Office and one of our team members will assist you with this exciting next step.

14. Will I be able to meet with a faculty members or academic advisors from my major or college?

Yes, during the day’s events you will have the opportunity to meet with various faculty and academic advisors from your college to assist you with any questions.

15. Will I be able to see a residence hall? 

We will include visiting a residence hall room during our campus tours. Our show rooms will include an Honors and FLP room as well. If you have already toured campus and only want to see a residence hall, we are happy accommodate you. Campus and residence hall tours will depart from the Admissions Office.

16. Can I meet with my Admissions Counselor during ASD?  

Provided your Admissions Counselor is not traveling for Creighton that day, you will have an opportunity to chat with your counselor. Although we do not schedule appointments with Admissions Counselors on ASD, we will share with you where you might be able to catch up with your Admissions Counselor that day.

17. How is ASD different from an individual campus visit?

ASD is a group visit day and is for admitted students, while an individual campus visit is for a student at any stage of their college search.  ASD is a visit day with a specific agenda based on the student’s academic interests and is a comprehensive day of sessions.  Individual campus visits include a one-on-one meeting with an Admissions Counselor, a campus tour and optional additional opportunities, like a meeting with a faculty member.   The individual campus visit typically lasts a couple of hours. To better understand which visit type would be a good fit for you, please contact your Admissions Counselor.

Admitted Student Day Overnight FAQs

1. What does the overnight visit consist of?

You will have dinner with a current student, participate in activities with current students and other incoming students and stay overnight with a current student in one of the residence halls. Students will get a temporary ID that will give them access to the residence halls and dining halls.

2. When & where do I check-in for the overnight?

You can check-in at the Admissions Office location on the main/2nd floor of the Harper Center. Check-in will be available from 4:00 - 5:30 pm on Sunday.

3. What if I can’t arrive during the scheduled check-in timeframe?

Not a problem - just let us know your travel plans in advance. Please email ASD Overnight Coordinator, Abby Maresh, at abbymaresh [at] creighton [dot] edu and let him know your travel plans (driving or flight information) ASAP with your arrival time. We will do our best to make every possible accommodation.  Please understand if you arrive significantly early, you may have to wait until your host is available. If you arrive considerably later in the evening, you will miss out on dinner and activities.

4. Can I stay overnight with my friend who is a Creighton student?

Yes, if that friend lives on campus. Admissions will need the friend’s name and they will need to sign up to be an overnight host at least two weeks in advance of your visit. Please send your friend’s first and last name and which Admitted Student Day you will be attending to ASD Overnight Coordinator, Abby Maresh, at abbymaresh [at] creighton [dot] edu.

5. Do I need to bring anything in order to spend the night in a Residence Hall?

Every student MUST fill out a waiver to stay overnight. Once your overnight is confirmed, you will receive an email with the link to the waiver and can also access it in your student portal. The waiver requires a parent signature. Digital signatures are not accepted. They can be either uploaded in your student portal ahead of time or brought to check-in. It is strongly encouraged to submit them ahead of time.

6. What should I bring to the overnight?

First, don’t forget your wavier (see question #5)! Bring your personal items necessary for an overnight stay, including toiletries. You may also need a pillow, blanket, sleeping bag, etc. depending on what your room host might have already for your use. You’re encouraged to reach out to your host and ask where you’ll be sleeping and what they may already have.

7. When will I find out who I am staying with?

Typically, you will get an email with your host’s information (name, email, phone number, and room location) the Thursday before your overnight visit. Your host will reach out to you to answer any questions you may have.

8. Is there a fee for the overnight program?

No, you will be our guest. There is no additional cost to participate in the ASD overnight program.

9. What should I wear to the ASD overnight program?

Wear whatever you’ll be comfortable in. The activities won’t be overly physical, so feel free to simply dress for the weather and your own style.

10. Where can my family/parents stay?

11. I’ve already stayed overnight on campus this academic year. Can I do another overnight visit during ASD?

An overnight experience is a unique opportunity for you, as a senior, to experience what life is truly like at Creighton. Our overnight hosts are all volunteers, and as such we have limited capacity for these experiences. Because we believe this is such a valuable experience, we want to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to participate. Therefore, students are limited to one overnight visit per year. If for some reason you would like to do another overnight visit later in the spring we can place you on a waitlist but will only be able to accommodate you if we have extra capacity.
